2001 AFMC-DPAAS CONFERENCE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Over the last several years the Air Force has evolved a
"capabilities-based" strategic and modernization planning
process focused on its Vision and Core Competencies. With this evolution,
many opportunities have been identified for improved cooperation among the
large spectrum of government and industry participants who contribute to
world-class warfighting systems. With these opportunities, come many
challenges as well. Capitalizing on the new opportunities and outlining
ideas for addressing our challenges are good means for going forward. Our
warfighters provide the information on the missions they need to
accomplish. The aerospace community then addresses that agenda and
provides options to accomplish those missions. A premium is placed on the
continual dialogue necessary to make this happen effectively and
efficiently. The Conference speakers provide varied perspectives on the
unifying topic of fielding solutions to warfighter needs.
Over a two day period this Conference will convey the policies,
direction and need for embracing and implementing a "systems of
systems" development planning process across the Air Force. Future
Air Force Warfighting systems needs, and AFMC plans for filling those
needs, will be discussed. Important Center systems planning efforts will
be briefed. Displays and demonstrations will be available to the
participants.
