The individuals who agreed to take on that
challenge - the DPAAS Co-founders - are:
Mr. John Griffin - ASC/XR
Mr. Lavon Jordan - Frontier Technology, Inc.
Colonel Richard Hayes - ASC/LN
From that PAT, the founders
incorporated the DPAAS in Dayton Ohio in April 1995. The goals and
objectives for DPAAS have been embraced by local Dayton area businesses
and government employees alike who work in the planning and analysis
field. Thanks to the persistence of these individuals, defense planning
and analysis resources will gain a focus on quality improvements and
maturation that other professional career fields have had for many
years.
Message from Mr. Lavon Jordan,
past National DPAAS President
DPAAS is a non-profit organization that
is interested in maintaining the defense planning and analysis field as
a highly motivated and professional community. DPAAS will provide the
members with the ability to view defense planning and analysis issues
and formulate solutions, address planning needs and tools and develop
thrusts of the government and industry. We hope you will see how your
organization can benefit and actively participate in this professional
society, refining the processes to be the best they can be, and
providing the products and tools at the highest possible quality.
The Air Force and other DoD groups have
recognized the need to maintain a good industry/government interface in
the defense planning and analysis arena. Good teamwork assures that our
decision makers have realistic options when choosing alternatives. The
success of current and future defense systems depends on our team having
effective tools and the proper expertise to do the job. It's your active
participation in forums like monthly meetings, our annual symposiums and
other workshops that will help us achieve this goal.
DPAAS was formed to nurture the
information exchange process critical to defense planning and analysis
processes. We are striving to ensure upfront planning is instituted in a
manner that fosters successful program execution. If you have
suggestions on how to make the defense planning and analysis areas
better, feel free to contact me or one of the DPAAS Board Members.
If you are interested in forming a
DPAAS chapter at your location, please see me today, or contact me by
phone (805-685-6672, x.104) or e-mail.
